The sustainability supply chain

Those working in the food industry, beyond product quality—now a prerequisite taken for granted—are required to provide transparency into the process behind the creation of a premium product, namely the value chain. Issues such as the impact on the environment and biodiversity, employment and economic development, the fight against corruption and respect for workers’ rights, and the importance of the connection with the local area have always been at the heart of La Molisana’s priorities.

Since 2011, numerous initiatives have been introduced to ensure, on the one hand, the maintenance of the company’s commitment to qualitative excellence and, on the other, the consolidation of a sustainable approach, thus demonstrating that combining business with attention to society and the environment is possible.

Initiatives and values recognized by stakeholders and civil society who in 2019 awarded La Molisana the Leonardo Business Excellence Award for the growth and sustainability category for its commitment to:

Cultivating the bond with the territory

By encouraging the involvement of wheat producers, to promote sustainable agricultural practices and obtain a quality raw material with a high protein content, recognizing and rewarding farmers with the right price.

Reduce the environmental footprint

By investing in high energy efficiency technologies, capable of increasing productivity and self-production levels, and promoting the recovery of production waste with a view to a circular economy.
